Exploring Scripture. Questioning Assumptions. Seeking Understanding.
Cloud7 grew from a desire to understand the Bible beyond the explanations, traditions and assumptions that often shape the way we read it.
What began as a personal search for understanding developed into a passion for exploring Scripture in its biblical, historical and cultural contexts. Along the way, I became increasingly interested in the relationship between what the Bible actually says, how its message has been interpreted throughout history, and how those interpretations have influenced Christian belief.
This is where I share that ongoing journey of research and discovery.
A Journey of Discovery
I believe the Bible deserves to be explored carefully, with an open mind, a willingness to ask difficult questions and a readiness to examine the evidence. Familiar explanations should not be beyond examination, and differences in interpretation should be approached with both honesty and respect.
My aim is not to claim that every question has an easy answer, but to encourage a deeper engagement with Scripture and a clearer distinction between biblical text, historical evidence, established tradition and personal interpretation.
Three Ways of Exploring
BIBLE & THEOLOGY brings together articles that investigate biblical passages, theological questions, historical developments and the traditions that have shaped Christian understanding.
The BIBLE TIMELINE PROJECT presents a visual research atlas of the Bible, Church and world history, helping readers explore people, events and developments within a broader historical picture.
DRAWN to the WORD — Drawings from Werner Prinsloo explores Scripture through art, using visual storytelling to reveal details, connections and layers of meaning that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Each approaches the Bible differently, but all share a common purpose: to encourage thoughtful investigation, deeper understanding and meaningful discovery.
The Guiding Principles
Cloud7 values evidence, context, intellectual honesty and respect. Questions should be welcomed, conclusions should be open to examination, and differences of interpretation should be acknowledged rather than concealed.
The question behind every claim is simple:
How do you know that?
Whether the answer rests on biblical evidence, historical sources, scholarly agreement or personal interpretation, understanding begins by recognising the difference.
Cloud7 is an invitation to explore, investigate and think for yourself.
